Two-step verification (also called MFA, or multi-factor authentication) adds an extra layer of security to your Rep AI account. When it's active, signing in takes one quick extra step: after entering your email and password, you confirm it's really you by typing a short code we email you. That way, even if someone learns your password, they still can't get into your account without access to your inbox.
You don't need to set anything up — Rep AI handles it for you. This article explains what to expect and how to get through it smoothly.
When you'll see it
You may be asked to verify with a code when you sign in with your email and password from a device or browser you haven't used before. You typically won't be asked again on that same device for a while (see “Remember this device” below).
If you sign in with Google, you won't see this step — Google handles your security in that case.
How to verify your login — step by step
Enter your email and password on the login page as usual, and continue.
You'll land on the “Two-step verification” screen. At the same time, we'll email a 6-digit passcode to your account's email address.
Open that email and copy the 6-digit code.
Paste or type the code into the passcode field.
(Optional) Tick “Remember this device” if you're on your own private computer. This lets you skip the code on this device for the next 30 days.
Select Verify. You'll be signed in and taken to your dashboard.
A few things to know
Codes expire after 10 minutes. If too much time passes, just request a new one.
Didn't get the email? Check your spam or junk folder first. You can also use the Resend option on the verification screen to send a fresh code (there's a brief wait between sends).
The code only works once. Each new login generates a new code.
“Remember this device” is best for personal computers only. Skip it on shared or public computers so the next person can't bypass verification.
Why this matters
Stronger protection: Your store's analytics, settings, billing, and customer conversations stay protected even if your password is ever exposed.
Peace of mind: A second step makes it dramatically harder for anyone else to access your account.
Almost no friction: With “Remember this device,” you'll usually only verify once per device, then sign in normally.
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
Code didn't arrive | Check spam/junk; confirm you're watching the right inbox; use Resend after the short cooldown. |
“Code is incorrect” | Re-check the 6 digits and that the code hasn't expired. After several wrong tries, the attempt locks — go back to login and sign in again to get a fresh code. |
“This code has expired” | Codes last 10 minutes. Go back to login and start again to receive a new one. |
Asked to verify on a device you use often | If you didn't tick “Remember this device,” or it's been more than 30 days, you'll be asked again. Tick the box this time to reduce future prompts. |
Unexpected verification email you didn't request | Someone may have your password and tried to sign in. Don't share the code with anyone, and change your password as a precaution. |
