Our chat widget includes the following accessibility features:
Keyboard Navigation Support
Chat button is keyboard-focusable and can be activated with Enter or Space keys
All interactive elements (buttons, input fields, suggestion chips) are reachable via Tab key
Chat can be closed with Escape key
Visible focus indicators show which element is currently selected
Screen Reader Compatibility
All buttons and controls include proper ARIA labels (e.g., "Open chat," "Send message," "Close chat")
Text input field has programmatic labels so screen readers announce its purpose
Icons and controls use aria-label attributes instead of relying on visual-only cues
Focus Management
When chat opens, keyboard focus automatically moves into the chat window
When chat closes, focus returns to the original trigger button
