Introduction
The Products page in your Rep AI dashboard provides a comprehensive view of all items in your product catalog. This page displays your automatically synchronized Shopify products and their current settings. While Rep AI handles most catalog management automatically, the Products page gives you visibility into how your items are organized and configured for AI interactions. In most cases, you won't need to make changes here, as your product information is kept up-to-date through automatic synchronization with your Shopify store.
Accessing the Products Page
- Log in to your Rep AI dashboard
- Navigate to the AI Sales section in the sidebar
- Select the Catalog tab
- Click on the Products tab (the Product Groups view is displayed by default)
Understanding the Products Table
The Products page displays a table with all items in your catalog. Each row represents a single product with the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Image | Thumbnail preview of the product |
| Name | Product title that appears in your store |
| Product Groups | Shows which collections or groups this product belongs to |
| Promoted | When enabled, these products appear first in order when displayed in a product carousel |
| Available | Controls whether the AI can include this product in conversations |
| Add-to-cart | Determines if customers can add this product to their cart via the AI |
Key Features of the Products Page
1. Visibility Settings
The Available toggle shows which products your AI can recommend during customer conversations:
- Enabled (green): Product is browsable and can be suggested by the AI
- Disabled (gray): Product will not be shown or suggested in conversations
2. Add-to-Cart Status
The Add-to-cart toggle indicates whether customers can add specific products to their cart through the AI:
- Enabled (green): Customers can add this product to cart directly from the chat
- Disabled (gray): Product cannot be added to cart through the AI
3. Promotion Information
The Promoted column (star icon) indicates products that have been prioritized in product carousels:
- Enabled (star icon): When the AI displays a product carousel containing these products, they will appear first in the order
- Disabled: Product follows normal ranking in search results
This feature doesn't change which products the AI selects for recommendations, but rather affects the order in which they appear when displayed. Promoted products are shown first, which can give them greater visibility when customers are browsing options.
4. Viewing and Navigating Your Catalog
The Products page includes several tools to help you view your catalog:
- Search bar: Quickly find specific products by name
- Filters: View products based on browsable status
- Pagination: Navigate through large catalogs with the page controls at the bottom
Automatic Catalog Synchronization
Your product catalog is automatically synchronized with your Shopify store. This ensures that your AI Assistant always has the most up-to-date information about your products. The synchronization process:
- Updates product information when changes are made in Shopify
- Adjusts availability based on inventory status
- Synchronizes new products as they're added to your store
- Removes discontinued products from recommendations
This automated process means you typically don't need to manually manage products on this page. Rep AI handles the synchronization to keep your catalog current with minimal effort on your part.
When to Check the Products Page
While the Products page requires minimal interaction, it can be helpful to review in these situations:
- Troubleshooting: If you notice your AI isn't recommending specific products
- Verification: To confirm newly added Shopify products are properly synchronized
- Understanding: To gain insights into how products are categorized and presented by your AI
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with how your products appear in AI conversations:
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| AI isn't recommending a specific product | Check if the product is set to "Available" (green toggle). If not and it should be, contact support |
| Customers can't add products to cart through the AI | Verify the "Add-to-cart" toggle is enabled (green). If there's an issue, contact support |
| Product showing outdated information | Your catalog may need to resync - contact support if issues persist after 24 hours |
| Missing products | For newly added products, allow 24 hours for synchronization. If still missing, contact support |
For most catalog issues, reaching out to Rep AI support is the recommended approach, as they can help diagnose and resolve synchronization problems.
