Before a shopper starts chatting, Rep AI shows a short privacy consent message explaining what information the assistant uses and why. That message appears in your store's language — and on right-to-left languages such as Hebrew and Arabic, the whole panel reads right-to-left, the way the rest of your storefront does.
There is nothing to set up. Rep AI reads your store's language setting and shows the matching version automatically.
What your shoppers see
The consent message includes:
- A friendly headline
- A short explanation of what the assistant collects and why
- Three benefit points — personalized assistance, seamless shopping, and continuous improvement
- A short “please note” line explaining that the assistant relies on this information to be useful
- A link to your own privacy policy
- An Accept all cookies button and a Reject button
Once a shopper accepts or rejects, the message does not come back.
Languages available today
Rep AI shows the consent message in:
- English
- French
- German
- Hebrew
Stores in any other language see the English version, so every shopper can still give informed consent before chatting.
Need another language?
Language coverage is expanding. If you would like the consent message in a language that isn't on the list yet, reach out to our support team through your Rep AI console — we prioritize new languages by how many merchants need them.
Right-to-left storefronts
On Hebrew and Arabic stores, the consent panel lays out right-to-left:
- The headline, paragraphs, and benefit list sit against the right edge of the panel
- Each bullet point sits to the right of the line it belongs to
- The Accept and Reject buttons mirror to match the reading direction
- A sentence that mixes Hebrew or Arabic with English words — or with the link to your privacy policy — keeps those words in the right order, with the full stop at the correct end of the line
- The layout is correct on mobile as well as desktop
Arabic stores get the right-to-left layout with the English wording.
Which language Rep AI picks
The consent message follows your store's default language setting, so every shopper on your storefront sees the same version. This is the same setting your storefront itself uses, which means the consent message and your store always agree.
Troubleshooting
A shopper tells me they saw a different version. Each shopper's browser remembers the consent wording for up to 24 hours. A shopper who opened the chat earlier and closed it without answering will see the current version on their next visit within a day. Nothing to do on your side.
My store's language isn't in the list. Your shoppers see the English version in the meantime. Contact support through your console and let us know which language you need.
I'd like to change the wording. The consent message is written and maintained by Rep AI so that it stays accurate about what the assistant does. If the wording doesn't fit your market, talk to our support team.
Why this matters
Builds trust. Shoppers are more comfortable agreeing to something they can read in their own language.
Supports compliance. A clear, translated privacy notice helps you meet international data protection expectations.
A better first impression. The consent message is the first thing the assistant ever shows a shopper. A panel that reads naturally in your store's language sets the tone for the whole conversation.
No setup. This follows your existing store language setting — there is nothing to configure and nothing to maintain.
