This guide contains an overview of the most important Rep onboarding steps.
When you first join the Rep platform, Rep will guide you through a Get Started checklist. However, you can revisit the steps below anytime!

Set your AI Concierge's tone of voice
When configuring your AI Concierge, its tone of voice should match your brand's identity.
Describe your AI’s tone using a maximum of four adjectives. Including more than four adjectives may result in AI responses that are lengthier than desired.
- In the left-hand navigation menu, go to AI Training > AI Personality.
- In the field at the top of the page named Describe your brand's tone of voice, enter up to four adjectives.
Set level of response detail
Rep offers a simple way to adjust how detailed your AI’s responses are. Setting it appropriately ensures your AI delivers the right level of detail to match your business needs and audience expectations.
In the left-hand navigation menu, go to AI Training > AI Personality.
Here, you’ll have two options for how the AI will respond: detailed or as short as possible.
Give the AI general (further) instructions
In the left-hand menu, navigate to AI Training > AI Personality.
In the Further AI Instructions section at the bottom of this page, you can provide instructions to Rep’s AI to be used generally across all conversations with shoppers. The same textbox and provided instructions are synced with the AI Instructions textbox on the AI Training > Test & Train page. Updating the instructions in the textbox on one page will update the instructions on the other.
Configure integrations
As an eCommerce merchant, your tech stack may include a variety of tools—from marketing, to social media, to customer support solutions. Keeping everything in sync is key to running an efficient business.
Rep makes this easy with built-in integrations for many of the most popular tools. Whether you’re connecting your CRM, email marketing platform, or other essential systems, Rep ensures seamless communication across your stack—helping you get the most out of your AI-powered assistant.
To explore all of Rep’s available integrations and connect the ones relevant to your business, navigate to Settings > Integrations in the left-hand menu.

Customize your Rep Widget
When you first join the Rep platform, the Rep chat widget will automatically align to your store's color scheme and logo. However, you can customize the look of the chat widget anytime.
In the left-hand menu, navigate to Settings > Chat Widget.
Let's take a look at some key settings available on this page:
Colors
- You can adjust the colors of the chat widget, including the Primary color, Secondary color, and Background color.
Widget Title
- You can adjust the name that appears at the top of the Chat Widget to encourage customer engagement.
Contact Support Sidebar
- You can enable or disable the Contact Support button that appears along the right-hand side of the chat widget
Define language settings
You can choose one of three different language settings for the Rep widget:
- Store’s Language – Rep will respond in the language set for your store. By default, the language will be determined by your domain, but you can always override this selection.
- Customer’s Browser Language – Rep will detect and respond in the customer's web browser language.
- Customer’s Preferred Language – Rep will initially greet your shoppers in your store's main language, and if the customer responds in a different language at some point within the conversation, Rep will switch to replying in that language.
