In this article, we will explain how to let customers sign up to get an update when product variants are back in stock. By following the steps below, you can ensure that your customers are effectively notified when items are back, enhancing their shopping experience and boosting your sales.
How will it work?
Once you enable the feature, if a variant is out of stock, it will be appear greyed out on the Rep carousel along with a Notify me. When a customer clicks on the button, the AI will prompt them for the details selected in the configuration window.
Note: this feature applies to restocked variants. To enjoy it, you must take a few actions on both Klaviyo and Rep.
Klaviyo Side
On the Klaviyo side, you need to make sure you have a Back-in-Stock active flow. Without it, Rep cannot add subscribers to an updates list, and customers will not receive notifications when variants are back in stock.
Need to create one? Here's how:
- Ensure you have an active Klaviyo account and Log into it;
- Navigate to Flows > Click on "Create Flow";
- Choose the Back in Stock flow from the list;
- Click on Create Flow;
- The new flow will be created as Manual. To send emails automatically, switch it to “Live";
-
Sync Products with Shopify
Ensure that the products in Klaviyo (https://www.klaviyo.com/catalog/items) are synced with Shopify. Klaviyo must be connected to the same store Rep is connected to. This should happen automatically, but you can also manually sync by clicking the sync button.
Note: If the products are not synced, Klaviyo will not detect when an item is back in stock, and the notification will not be dispatched.
Rep Side
- Ensure that your Rep account is integrated with your Klaviyo account.
- Log into the console, hover over the left menu and click on Settings > Integrations > Klaviyo > See details.
- There, tap the second Add Power-Up button.
- A window will prompt you to select the contact details you wish to collect to let customers sign up for the updates list: email, phone, name, or any combination between them and hit Add Power-up.
Important notes:
- You must pick at least email or phone to allow notifications to be sent.
-
Ensure that the selection here matches the flow configuration in Klaviyo. If you select email here, select the email in Klaviyo as well, and vice versa for the phone. Mismatched configurations will result in customers not receiving notifications, although they will be subscribed.
